Things that happen on my everyday life…

IMAX, Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen

Yesterday I went to the movie theater located in Galerias Mall to watch Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen.

I’m gonna say one thing: It was frigging awesome!

It was worth to arrive 3 hours before (I bought the tickets since Monday) because I was the first in the line and therefore I was able to pick the best seats.

I remember just 3 IMAX scenes:

  1. The fight in the woods
  2. When the twins are fighting against the “big merged thing”
  3. When the “big merged thing” it’s on the pyramid

Is there any other IMAX scene?

Long time without posting…

During the past weeks, that idea came into my head, since I’m not learning nothing and I’m not earning too much either, I thought that I won’t lose such a big thing.

So the question is: to quit or not quit?

I have read this book (i finished yesterday), and i liked it. I’m not going to review it or to criticize it.
I just want to say that i didn’t like the spanish translation.

Right now, i’m starting with a Poe’s one: Extraordinary Narrations, this would be the third book in the year (one per month, pretty nice taking in consideration that i’m also reading the CCNA study guide).

Have you read this book?

  3. Zombie
  4. Freddie Krueger
  5. Space Invader
  6. Megatron

Back To The Future: License Plate

Who doesn’t want this license plate?
You can get it only for $29.99 USD; those who live in Mexico as me, don’t even think about it, ThinkGeek does not ship to our contry (there are always other ways to get it, a.k.a. Merkalink, but those are too much expensive).

P.S. I love this movie since i was a child.

10 Things to do in 2009

This is my personal to-do list for this new year:

  1. Get my CCNA certification
  2. Lose at least 5 fat kilograms
  3. Get a better job (if it’s related with networking is better)
  4. Improve my English
  5. Read The Lord Of The Rings Saga (Hobbit, Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers, Return of the King) and more books if it’s possible
  6. Learn how to play the bass guitar
  7. Take some Vacations
  8. Learn how to administrate Unix
  9. Get a videogames console (Wii, XBOX360 or PS3)
  10. Post a little bit more

What am i doing to achieve those to-do?

  1. I’m taking a certification course @CUCEA besides that i bought a CCNA book.
  2. I got a suscription for a year at the gym.
  3. I’m improving my english skills and i’m learning Cisco :D.
  4. I’m writing, i’m reading and i’m watching TV in english even though my first language is Spanish.
  5. I purchased the LOTR saga and i got some other books at the FIL (International Book Fair) to read them.
  6. I have my bass guitar and some learning methods, i just need an amplifier.
  7. I’m saving some money, because on 2008 i didn’t have any vacations, so 2009 would be a good year to do so.
  8. On my actual job, i noticed that Unix is a good tool and most of the systems nowadays are using it (i’m not doing anything to achieve this one, but i could get a book or read in internet about it).
  9. I want a lot of things, but i’ll start with the cheaper one (i’m saving money for this one as well).
  10. I’m posting right now ;-).

Do you have a to-do list for this 2009? Is there something that couldn’t be done on 2008 and you’re gonna do it this 2009?

First package has arrived

Today, on the new year’s eve, finally one of two packages has arrived. Here’s the story:

I wanted to get a Cisco book in order to prepare myself for the CCNA exam. I checked previously on internet some books for that purpose and i found one called “CCNA Study Guide” by Richard Deal distributed by McGraw-Hill.

I went to the FIL (Feria Internacional del Libro aka International Fair Book) and i got to the McGraw-Hill stand and what was my surprise that they didn’t have any book in english.

I remembered that sends books to Mexico without any special charge (i. e. import taxes), so I decided to put my order. Some of my co-workers wanted some books as well, hence the shipping cost was around 5 dollars per book (8 books ordered).

Around 1 or 2 days later after i put the order, i received an email saying that the books would be sent in two parts: first part would contain my CCNA book plus another one of my co-worker. Second part would have the rest of them.

That was the story about my book, the odd thing is that the package that arrived today, it was shipped two days after the other. My book should have arrived first, shouldn’t it?

Playing Drums with Wii Drum High

Look this girl playing “If It Kills Me” of Jason Mraz, using only a Wii controller (as a drum sticks) and a Wii Fit Balance board (as bass drum). This hack has been done by Zhao He. On his Vimeo you can find a tutorial to see how this thing works (check at the end of the tutorial video how the same girl plays “Hysteria” a Muse song).

I used to play drums a while ago and i can say that the sounds of the “virtual” drums are excellent. Same thing for the girl, she knows what she’s doing 😀
